KOSTIĆ: Serbia will have about 3.5 billion EUR worth of direct foreign investments in 2007
The President of the Foreign Investors Council (FIC), Budimir Kostić, estimated that Serbia would attract between 3 and 3.5 billion EUR of direct foreign investments in 2007.
- The interest in new investments in Serbia will be increased with the harmonization of the law with the new Constitution, which resolved the issue of ownership over land and better organized issue of ownership - said Kostić.
Major share of investments into Serbia will come from the privatization, which should be brought to an end in 2007. According to Kostić, the Council will, in addition to the fact that it will point to some shortages that exist in legal regulations and their application, more actively invite foreign investors to come to Serbia - the good place for investments.
- Ratification of the agreement on free trade with Russia, next to the admission to CEFTA Agreement, will be of extreme importance for attraction of foreign investors - President of FIC pointed out.
