Serbia is going to invest EUR 10 million in the Danube this year in order to have the complete infastructure on that river in place and include it in what we call 'regional tourism,' Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said today, opening the Tourism Fair.

He noted that their priorities in 2016 were to invest in the infrastructure of spa resorts, road communication and infrastructure in mountain resorts, Stara Planina in particular, and the regeneration of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, where he said the city center and building facades would be beautified to make them the best 'city break' destinations.

- We are going to invest EUR 10 million in the Danube this year and in early 2017, especially in stretches between Apatin and Beska and between Smederevo and Kladovo - Vucic said and added that we should be thankful to our friends from Slovenia, a highly developed country when it comes to tourism, as we would have to learn a lot more from them.

As he underlined, Serbia is a small country that can attract those tourists who know where to go after visiting our country, which is why cooperation with Slovenia is so important - we can learn from them and work together.

The prime minister also stated that Serbia was a good country for Slovenians as well as all other tourists.
