Siemens considers moving its production facilities from other countries to Serbia

Siemens will continue to increase the number of employees at the wind generator manufacturing plant in Subotica and now considers relocating production facilities from other countries to Serbia, Siemens Serbia General Manager Udo Eichlinger announced.
- The factory in Subotica is a good example of what we can do, and we will continue to grow our business there and create new jobs. We should announce good news early next year - Eichlinger, who assumed his current position at Siemens Serbia on 1 August 2015, told Beta news agency.
Eichlinger was unable to reveal all the details of their plan to increase the number of employees at the factory in Subotica, which will be employing about 1,500 people at Siemens Serbia after hiring 220 workers by the end of September.
He pointed out that the manufacturing plant in Subotica was Siemens' fifth largest factory producing large generators for windmills in the world at the moment, and the aim is to make it the biggest of all.
- There are already plans, and we are thinking how to improve the situation in Serbia by relocating our capacity from other countries and fixing the economic position of Serbia and the company at the same time - he stressed.
Germany's Siemens has classified the factory in Serbia as one of the biggest and the most significant in its production system. This manufacturing plant has exported nearly 18,000 wind generators to date.
