Department store "Beograđanka" to be opened on May 23rd

- Refurbished department store "Beograđanka" will be opened on Saturday, May 23rd, at 12,000 square meters of retail space - people from company Department Stores "Beograd" announced yesterday (May 20, 2009).

According to the announcement, "Beograđanka" will employ about 200 workers.

The shoppers will be offered over 80 local and foreign brands of clothing, footwear, jewelry, fashion accessories, sports equipment, furniture at six levels. There will also be a playhouse, few coffee shops, galleries, bank office, pharmacy and bookstores.

The amount of investment in refurbishment of "Beograđanka" has not been revealed yet, but, when it was buying Department Stores "Beograd", company "Verano motors" announced that it would invest about 70m EUR in modernization of the chain of 32 department stores at total of 240,000 square meters.

Company "Verano" and Greek Marfin Investment Group bought the chain of department stores "Beograd" at the end of year 2007 for 360m EUR.

It has been announced that "Beograđanka" will be opened at 6 PM on Saturday, and that it will be open until midnight on that first day.

Department store "Beograđanka" was first opened on April 22, 1974.
