Tiles made in the plant of the stock company Potisje Kanjiza, part of the Austrian group Tondach, will be used to cover a large number of facilities in Sochi (Russian Federation), which are being built for the 22nd Winter Olympics in 2014. Tondach Group has signed a contract with the Russian partner on the delivery of covering materials for over 160,000 square meters of roofs, worth 2.5 million euros.

Tiles from Kanjiza will be laid on the roofs of facilities in Gornji Karusel, one of the Olympic complexes in the hinterland of Sochi, which is among the largest development projects in the mountain region of Krasnaja Poljana where journalists will be staying.

– Construction works are already underway and they should be finished by the end of 2013, while the first shipment of tiles will be delivered as early as this year – said Mr. Martin Olbrich, a representative of Tondach Group.

– Roofs will be covered by various products from the portfolio of Tondach. The surface of the main roof at the heights of 540 and 960 meters above the sea level will be covered by Venus tiles, which are available in two colors and are best known for their elegance and functionality. Since the format of these tiles is big, there will be only 11 pieces per square meter of roof, which contributes to greater efficiency.
