Second Phase of Construction of New Landfill in Vinca in Final Phase – Investor Seeking Green Permit for Disposal of Hazardous Waste

The company Beo Cista Energija, which is building a waste management complex in Vinca as part of the public-private partnership with the City of Belgrade, has filed to the competent ministry the Request for determining the scope and the content for the updating of the environmental impact assessment study of the construction of a new landfill in that location.

According to the document which has a November 2022 date on it, at the time of its preparation, the works on the first phase of the construction of the complex had been completed, and the works within the second phase were in the very final stages.

In concrete terms, within the first phase, among other things, a new entrance to the landfill, three new traffic routes, a platform for construction waste treatment, the first phase of the internal waste landfill, the first phase of the landfill, seepage treatment facilities, a platform for torches and the accompanying features were finished.

Within the second phase, the second phase of a new sanitary landfill – a landfill for municipal and other non-hazardous waste and a landfill for the byproducts of the processing of waste at the thermal power plant/heating plant powered by waste, with systems for the collection of ground, seepage and precipitation waters, are in the final phase.


It is reminded that said built facilities have been tested for operations and that the waste is already disposed of to the first phase of the new landfill and added that, in the coming period, in a short amount of time, the second phase of the new sanitary landfill for municipal and other non-hazardous waste, the lower platform and the seepage treatment facility are expected to be tested for operations.
