There’s plenty of electrical energy and gas in Serbia, prime minister Ana Brnabic said yesterday and added that the country was safe regarding that issue in the time of the global energy crisis.

After receiving the third dose of the anti-Covid vaccine at the Belgrade Fairgrounds, Brnabic said that the price of electrical energy in Serbia was still much lower than in Europe, but also that there would be a pressure on the prices.

– We will analyze everything we need to in order to find the right way. The economy has asked for the electricity price to be capped in the upcoming months, but that is impossible, because we have a liberalized market – she explained.

She pointed out that some gas reserves from the Banatski Dvor storage facility were being used, but underlined that Serbia was safe when it comes to energy sources.

– We are considering which measures to implement in order to be secure in the long term, which we will do in the upcoming week – the prime minister added.
