Nutanix .NEXT Conference Once Again Brings Important New Features to Cloud Technologies Field

Nutanix has been considered a leader in the field of cloud technologies and business data centers for some time now, and their .NEXT event has already positioned itself as one of the main annual events in said areas.

As 2020 has brought well known challenges for everyone, this time, instead of a traditional gathering, the sharing of new information and making new business contacts, Nutanix decided to transfer all this into an environment suitable for the current circumstances, so we had an opportunity in the first half of September to see the first online .NEXT conference.

This digital event brought a lot of important new things in the field of hyperconverged infrastructure, hybrid cloud and some other surprises as well. Several important partnerships, new technologies and important upgrades of existing services were announced, so let's start at the beginning.

As one of the main news from the entire conference, Nutanix' partnership with Microsoft gained a lot of attention. It will enable both companies to deliver a hybrid solution which brings unobstructed app, data and license mobility, as well as a unified management in local and Azure environments, using Nutanix clusters on the Azure platform.

As a result of this partnership, Nutanix and Microsoft will deliver Nutanix clusters on the Azure platform, whereby it will expand the Nutanix hybrid cloud infrastructure to Azure. Furthermore, users can expect a smooth sales and support experience, as well as integration for the management of servers, containers and data services on Nutanix HCI, locally or in Azure, through Azure Arc.

In addition to that, Nutanix announced important new options in its popular software for hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI). Bringing important innovations to the markets of data centers and cloud, HCI has become a standard for enabling the operation of modern private clouds, and the Nutanix software has been recognized by over 17,000 clients and leading analysts for its unsurpassed simplicity, scalability, elasticity and security.

Concretely, the innovations announced during the .NEXT conference will bring up to 50% faster performances, native virtual networking for the simplification of the implementation of multicloud services, end-to-end security monitoring for support to the Zero-Trust strategy and expanded possibilities of automation and budgeting for resources in a cloud.

In addition to its HCI software package for a public cloud, the company continues to set standards in the field of innovations in the fast growing HCI market, putting true IT modernization within reach of all organizations. The new possibilities only emphasize Nutanix' dedication to innovations in order to meet the new demands of clients and further shake up the status quo in the industry.

As the third important news from the .NEXT conference, we can emphasize the new Carbon Platform Services. This is a multicloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution based on Kubernetes, with automated security run by the system, for the purpose of development and implementation of applications based on microservices in any cloud.

Companies which aim to understand all the advantages arising from digital initiatives often have a problem reaching the full potential of their software development teams and agile DevOps processes they operate with. Kubernetes, together with its ecosystem of cloud native technologies, continues evolving at a great pace, which makes it increasingly more difficult for implementation without substantial technical resources.

What's more, organizations need to be able to use both local and public establishment of Kubernetes based on a cloud, without jeopardizing their ability to manage data, apps and IT resources in a simple and efficient way.

This offer provides software developers with a turnkey service system, locally, in a public cloud and on the edge, the ability to develop and run native apps in a cloud, while at the same time enabling them to separate the apps from the basic infrastructure. It also provides IT operating teams with a simplified and consistent way of management of the life cycle of apps and the security framework. Finally, another important new feature announced at .NEXT is Elevate, a global partnership program designed to redefine the way of partnership engagement. Built on an already robust partnership program, Elevate will combine Nutanix' global partnership ecosystem under an integrated architecture which will bring simplicity, profitability and an accelerated development path for several products and multicloud solutions toward a business transformation of partners.

Elevate simplifies the engagement for the entire ecosystem of Nutanix partners by using a set of tools, resources and marketing platforms available at the new Nutanix portal for the partners – facilitating their road to success. Further improvements include the new Performance + registration of agreements designed to increase the potential of incentives and protect business opportunities. This consistency of experiences and support also spreads to the program nomenclature – putting all the partnership organizations under the single Elevate brand of programs and tag structure.

The Elevate channel program differs from traditional partnership programs because it puts a unique emphasis on the possibilities and competences of partners to sell and support the Nutanix portfolio, instead of meeting income goals.
