German Companies to Continue Investing in Serbia

German companies will continue investing and realizing their investments in Serbia, says the president of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK Serbia) and the CEO of Hemofarm, Ronald Seeliger.

– German companies are sure to continue investing in Serbia. We are here in the long term and will continue accordingly. I say this on behalf of my company, but also on behalf of other German companies – Seeliger told Tanjug.

He added that German companies planned to expand their investments in Serbia. According to him, AHK Serbia is very proud of the fact that the companies have kept their workers throughout the crisis and that Hemofarm even employed new people.

When it comes to new investments, he noted that everything still largely depended on the situation and the global demand and that no plans could be presented at the moment, but that it was clear that “German companies are not just visiting Serbia”, but that they had been operating in the country for 20 years, meaning they're here to stay.

Seeliger says that the seriousness of the German investors is also apparent from the help they've given to Serbian institutions during the crisis.

As he says, German companies – AHK members have donated more than EUR 1.5 million to help Serbia fight the epidemic, and Hemofarm alone donated medical equipment worth EUR 400,000.

This Monday, STADA-Hemofarm donated help to the health system of Serbia to fight coronavirus in the form of 110 monitors for tracking the vital functions of patients.

Also, through its donation, Hemofarm helped the local self-governments of Vrsac and Sabac, where it has factories, he added.

He points out that the Serbian government had done well with its economy stimulus measures, as no one had been ready for the crisis, and that health was the absolute priority.
