Due to lack of basic raw material, primary petrol, the production at HIP-Petrohemija will be stopped for a period of around twenty days, the state company has announced.

The suspension of the production at the Etilen factory and other production facilities in Pancevo is to begin on April 30, and the petrochemical factory of synthetic rubber in Elemir has not been operating since April 24.

– HIP-Petrohemija is forced to stop the production due to lack of primary petrol, the basic raw material used for production, and it is likely that the factory will not start working until the second half of May – said the executive director of the production and technical support sector at HIP-Petrohemija, Misa Bulajic.

Petrohemija has so far maintained the production in the conditions of the state of emergency, in line with the measures of the Government of Serbia and the increased measures of protection at the company, mostly thanks to the employees, he said.

During the suspension of the production in Pancevo and Elemir, the processing equipment will be checked for functionality and cleaned technologically, which will secure the continuation of the company's safe and efficient operations.
