– Companies from our region would thereby be able to transport food, medicines, medical equipment and ingredients and finished products for export more quickly and easily – Cadez says.
– This is important, as companies from the Western Balkans, including EU companies which operate in the region, face the problem of the delivery of ingredients and materials, components and finished products to parent companies and purchasers in the EU being late every day due to the delays at the border crossings. Truck drivers face various challenges due to inconsistent quarantine regimes at inner and outer EU borders – Cadez says in his letters to European officials.
He also notes that KIF ZB6 members oblige to comply with all the rules and protective measures that the EU has implemented in order to suppress the pandemic.
The president of KIF ZB6 has also invited the EU to include the Western Balkans in the system of joint procurement of medical and protective equipment, established by the Union, and to exclude the region from the ban on export of protective medical equipment from the EU.
