The new report released by the professional social networking platform LinkedIn has put blockchain as the most sought-after “hard skill” for 2020.

Just as it made the LinkedIn's annual top work skills list, blockchain topped the most in-demand hard skills list for 2020, LinkedIn Learning post writes.

In 2019 blockchain beat other hard skills such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), analytical reasoning, user experience (UX) design only to become the most sought-after hard skill among global employers for 2020.

Namely, .the ranking of the most needed skills was made by looking at those that are in high demand relative to their supply. Demand was measured by identifying the skills listed on the career profiles of people who are getting hired at the highest rates. The analysis only included cities with over 100,000 active LinkedIn users.

Compared to soft skills hard skills concern an employee’s ability to do a specific task. They include specialized knowledge and technical abilities, such as software development, tax accounting or law expertise. On the other hand, soft skills are more about the way employees do those tasks — how they adapt, collaborate, solve problems, and make decisions.

LinkedIn is convinced that blockchain has a bright future. The site emphasised the enormous potential of blockchain technology as decentralized, and cost- and time-efficient way to transparently track shipments and transactions of all kinds.

The report points out that leading world corporations such as IBM, Oracle, JPMorgan Chase, LinkedIn and Microsoft actively use the technology. The report stresses recognizing the importance of the blockchain technology.

Blockchain has emerged from the once shadowy world of cryptocurrency to become a business solution in search of problems. Which means that you don’t have to be in financial services to be seeking new hires who have background and expertise in putting blockchain to use.
