Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia Tanju Bilgic has announced that a Turkish factory that will employ 2,500 people will soon open in Serbia.

At the opening of Balkan Textile 2019 at the Belgrade Fair, Bilgic said that, during the May visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a textile factory of a Turkish investor would open in Kraljevo.

He said that Turkish investors in the textile industry already employed 5,000 people. Investments of Turkish investors in Serbia, according to him, amount to EUR 250 million so far.

According to Biglic, in 2018, the trade between Serbia and Turkey amounted to USD 1.2 billion, of which 50 million in the textile sector, a growth by 12%.

Let us remind that the Turkish textile company Tai Group bought the property of Autotransport Kraljevo in early 2018 and announced in April that it would open production lines at its facilities in mid-2019 and then the main facility of the new textile factory Eurotay.
