Izet Rastoder, the sixth biggest banana trader in the world, made the best bid for Gorenje Surovina from Maribor.

The company is one of the biggest Slovenian waste processing entities, with a tradition of over 50 years.

Rastoder is known as the banana king in Slovenia and has placed as the 40th richest Slovenian this year, despite the losses he suffered after the collapse of Agrokor, which amount to over EUR 5 million, making him one of the biggest individual losers in the Agrokor affair, regional media report.

The eponymous Rastoder company, in which a 95% stake belongs to Izet, whereas his wife Hajrija Rastoder owns 5%, makes 85% of its total income from the sale of its trademarked bananas. It has recently started investing at an increased pace in the previously stopped real estate project, which have not yet produced revenue.

If Rastoder manages to buy Gorenje Surovina, his companies will soon reach the income level of EUR 250 million.
