President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Slobodan Milosavljevic Ph.D.,was born in Belgrade in 1965. He is married and the father of two children. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Economic Sciences in 1990. In 1996 he defended his Master’s Degree Thesis and in 2001 his Doctorate Thesis at the same Institution.

After university graduation he worked in trade and shipping business for a short period; from 1991 he was employed at the Institute for the Market Research (IZIT) in Belgrade. In IZIT he was involved in research work, monitoring and projecting general economic trends and correlation of products and branches. He participated and was the leader in numerous projects concerning market research, ownership, market and organizational restructuring of the enterprises, creation of the business image and marketing strategies of the enterprises, etc. From 1996 he held the position of the Director of the Center for conjuncture research and macroeconomic analysis.

From January 25th 2001 until March 3rd 2004 he was the Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services in the first democratically elected Serbian Government. Short period preceding the nomination to the ministerial function he was Economic Advisor to the President of the Democratic Party, the late Dr.Zoran Djindjic.

After the expiration of the ministerial term of office, Dr. Milosavljevic was elected to the position of the Director of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, while from December 14th 2004, he was elected President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce. As the incoming President of the SCC, Dr. Milosavljevic became the President of the National Board of the International Chamber of Commerce. On February 11th 2005, Dr. Milosavljevic was elected the Vice President of the Euro Mediterranean Association “Euro-Med TDS”. Another of his engagements includes the Professorship at the Belgrade Business School teaching the subject - Trade Politics.

Within the scope of the additional activities, President Milosavljevic was the General Secretary and member of the Managing Board of the Yugoslav Marketing Association JUMA from 1994-2001. Also, during 1996 –1997, he worked as an advisor for the economic and commercial activities and was the member of the Board of Directors of the joint venture company “AYUCO” Int. with the seat in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Slobodan St. Milosavljevic Ph.D. was the President of the Managing Board of the Public Utility Company for forestry management “Srbijašume” , Belgrade during the period from 2001-2004; he was the President of the Commission for the Monitoring of the Living Standards of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the President of the Supervisory Board of the Fund for Development of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the member of the Managing Board of the Belgrade Business School and of the National Employment Agency.

More than 50 scientific and expert publications authored by Dr. Milosavljevic have appeared in magazines, editions, publications and monographies of the national and international scope. He managed many projects of enterprise value estimations for the needs of the ownership transformation, projects of audit, market research and enterprise restructuring in Serbia.
