The German airline Lufthansa is interested in launching a year-round service from Frankfurt and Munich to Tivat, whereas the Austrian Airlines (part of Lufthansa Group) should launch a regular service from Vienna to Tivat.

These are the main details of the negotiations about the intensification of the cooperation carried out so far by representatives of the Airports of Montenegro and the management of Lufthansa Group.

Lufthansa Group is already present on Montenegrin airports through its low-cost company Eurowings, which had a seasonal service between Dusseldorf and Tivat, as well as the Austrian Airlines, which has a regular year-round service on the Vienna-Podgorica route. Eurowings announced an increase in the number of flights on the route to Tivat in 2018, but also the launch of a new Podgorica service.

This summer, another member of Lufthansa Group, the Belgian low-cost company Brussels Airlines, is implementing a weekly service on the Brussels-Tivat route from May 9.

Members of Lufthansa Group currently fly to over 300 destinations on four continents, and they transported around 110 million passengers last year alone.
