Hemofarm Vrsac becomes head center of Stada Group for Central-Eastern Europe – Further expansion of capacities and enhancement of production planned

Hemofarm Vrsac has become the head center of the Stada Group for the markets of Central-Eastern Europe.

As announced by Hemofarm, by a decision of the management of Stada, the Vrsac-based company has been put in charge of the markets of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, thereby having its zone of regional competence, which encompassed the markets of Southeastern Europe (B&H, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania) until now, expanded.

– The new role given to Hemofarm is a great acknowledgment by Stada of our work and the results we've achieved in the past period. This is also good news for Serbia and the region, especially considering that it is rare for a company outside the EU to have markets within the EU put in its charge. With new markets, our plans grow more ambitious as well. Investments will be directed at the expansion of capacities, a further enhancement of product quality, research and development of medical drugs and especially in workforce – hard-working, quality, educated people, of which there are currently around 3,000 in Hemofarm – said Ronald Seeliger, CEO of Hemofarm and Vice President of the Stada Group.

In 2017, Hemofarm became a part of a big international family – Cinven and Bain Capital, through Stada. Aside from being the regional leader, Hemofarm has managed to have its medical drugs sold at pharmacies in 38 countries on three continents. Hemofarm's factories, which adhere to the highest international pharmaceutical standards, are located in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the company's facilities are among the 20% most energy efficient facilities in the world, the press release reminds.
