Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to representatives of foreign investors and investment funds interested in investing in Serbia on Friday, January 20, 2017.

The representative of the Greek company Lambda Development who has bought the premises of the former Beko in downtown Belgrade is interested in investing money in the construction of a residential complex there. Furthermore, members of the investment fund VTB Capital are interested in the possibility of investing in airports and air transport.

The investors were the most interested to find out what the investment and business climate in Serbia was like and what sort of help they could count on when it came to administrative procedures.

Mihajlovic assured them that Serbia was offering the best business conditions for investors of all the countries of the region. She cited the fact that building permits were issued in less than seven days on average in Serbia as one of the examples.

She also introduced the investors to the fact that the Government of Serbia had largely improved the business environment in the past years and she cited the data that Serbia was among the top 10 countries on the World Bank’s 2016 Doing Business List in reforms as the best proof of that.
